Anatomy & Physiology

Have you ever wondered why your stomach rumbles when you’re hungry or why your lungs burn and your legs ache after gym class?

In this course, you’ll unravel these secrets and more by delving into anatomy, or parts of the body, as well as the physiology, which is how they work. Along the way you’ll explore the various bodily systems that make up the human body and learn about their structure and function.

GUIDED DISCOVERY

ASU Prep Pedagogy

Guided discovery encourages you to build knowledge through answering questions and gathering information, while receiving support and feedback. This approach fosters self-discovery and ownership of learning.

In this course you’ll explore 3D models of the human body to learn how various bodily systems work, then use prior knowledge and context clues to both ask and answer questions. Meaningful feedback will guide you to understanding.

Anatomy & Physiology Special Features

  • A simulation that explores each of the body systems
  • Labs that ask students to collect data about how the body systems work. Example: Measuring Pulse Rate Lab
  • Case studies that ask students to apply what they have learned about the body systems to analyze patient symptoms. Example: Respiratory and Circulatory
