ASU Preparatory Academy receives an elite national distinction:
ASU Prep Phoenix is the only school in Arizona and one of just 26 nationwide named a 2025 School of Excellence by ACT’s American College Application Campaign (ACAC).
This award honors schools that have shown exceptional dedication to expanding college access and supporting students in achieving their higher education goals. For students and families, this means attending a school recognized for creating pathways to college and providing the tools and guidance needed for future success.
At ASU Prep Phoenix, helping students prepare for college is part of our mission and at the heart of what we do every day. This commitment continues to earn national recognition with ACT’s designation as a 2025 School of Excellence through its American College Application Campaign.
Of nearly 10,000 participating schools, ASU Prep Phoenix High School was one of just 26 nationwide and the only one in Arizona to receive this distinction, which highlights schools that go above and beyond to help students take the next step after high school.
This honor showcases the culture at ASU Prep Phoenix and the entire ASU Prep Network, a deep and innate dedication to ensuring every student has the support, guidance and opportunity to pursue college.
We are incredibly proud of the work happening at ASU Prep Phoenix to create a student-centered experience and prepare every student for college. This recognition reflects the fruits of this labor and commitment our team brings every day to supporting students.”
The American College Application Campaign, led by ACT’s Center for Impact and Learning, is a national effort designed to increase the number of first-generation students and students from under-resourced communities who pursue a college degree or other postsecondary credential.
The School of Excellence award recognizes schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to expanding college access and supporting students through the application process. It highlights the work of educators and staff who help remove barriers and make college more accessible for all students.
Our national college application campaign is an effort to open additional doors for students who might be the first in their families to attend college. We’re immensely grateful to the nearly 10,000 high schools that participate and salute these 26 School of Excellence recipients for their work helping more students take this critical step.”
At ASU Prep Phoenix, preparing for college is part of the student experience from the start. Students are supported throughout the application process, with guidance and encouragement that helps them navigate key milestones and make informed decisions about their future.
This support leads to real results. In 2025, almost all seniors (97%) were accepted to a two- or four-year university. Students are also building momentum early, too. 93% of 10th graders have already earned at least six college credits, giving them a strong foundation before they even reach their final years of high school. In total, students earned 2,875 college credits, a 133% increase year over year.
Students can earn these college credits while still in high school, and ASU Prep covers the tuition costs. This removes a major barrier and makes early college access possible for more students.
All of these results show a culture where college is not just a distant goal; it’s expected and supported by teachers, administrators and leaders every step of the way.
The ACT award also reflects a broader commitment across the ASU Prep Network to preparing students for success in college, careers and life.
At ASU Prep, we do more than encourage students to pursue higher education. We give them the tools and personal support to get there. Our support programs include one-on-one mentoring with advisors, personalized college counseling for course selection and applications, and regular workshops on essay writing, financial aid and scholarships.
Across all ASU Prep schools, whether in-person, online, or hybrid, students have chances to gain college experience before they graduate, which is why in 2025:
ASU Prep also purposefully integrates efforts and activities into the school year that help students plan ahead, ensuring they have the means, support and options they need to succeed. This includes completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), applying for scholarships and pursuing other strategies to help college feel more affordable and attainable.
With this consistent, system-wide focus on access and readiness, students graduate feeling more prepared and confident as they take the next step toward achieving their dreams.
Every application and college acceptance is made possible by the people who support our students.
At ASU Prep Phoenix, students receive support from educators, counselors and staff who are dedicated to their success. Families also play an important role, encouraging and supporting students as they pursue their goals.
Together, this unique, interconnected community creates an environment where students feel ready, supported and confident to pursue college. And anything else they set out to achieve.
