Stories that Connect

Across ASU Prep, connection strengthens us in ways we can’t always see. But we feel it every day in how we grow, show up and champion each other to achieve more.

Stronger bonds form brighter futures

We don’t leave connection to chance. We create it with intention, moment by moment, in our classrooms, conversations and how we empower each other.

It’s the teacher who sees a spark of joy and takes time to ignite it. The student who finds a perfect fit in new friendships, personalized learning or a future that suddenly feels within reach. The families who are an essential part of the experience, not outside of it.

Every day, we choose to rise together.

Watch and see how our culture helps Sun Devils rise to greatness.

Stories that connect

Dutch Flanagan + Mom

Student & Parent

For Dutch Flanagan and his mom, Brooke, belonging didn’t happen all at once. It showed up in deep conversations, trusted mentors and a place where being yourself never required explanation.

At ASU Prep Tempe powered by The Levitt Lab, Dutch found space to connect in his own way, and Brooke watched those small shifts carry far beyond the classroom. Sometimes the biggest changes happen quietly as a student becomes more open, a family grows closer and you realize you’ve finally found where you’re meant to be.

Marylin Monroy

Profesor líder transformador

Marylin Monroy sees growth as something that happens together through encouragement, opportunity and people who help you see what you’re capable of. Throughout her time as a teacher at ASU Prep Phoenix, she’s found new opportunities and mentorship that have helped her continue learning while expanding her impact.

She feels the same encouragement she gives students reflected back in the school community and caring people around her, creating a culture where people cheer each other on and feel empowered to keep growing.

That encouragement gave her the confidence to step into the Transformational Teacher Leader role, where she now supports fellow educators while continuing to learn from the hardworking people around her.

Toya Abrams, Ph.D.

Principal

Dr. Toya Abrams has spent her career helping students and educators, but leadership was never about moving further away from the classroom. It was about creating a greater impact.

As the principal at ASU Prep Digital Middle School, she found a culture that invests in people and believes relationships matter. For her, connection means understanding where someone has been, recognizing where they want to go and helping them get there. And having as much fun as possible while doing it.
