About ASU Prep

Founded in 2008, ASU Preparatory Academy originally operated as University Public Schools, Inc. (UPSI), which opened its first campus in Mesa, Arizona. ASU Prep opened its downtown Phoenix location just one year later, in collaboration with the Phoenix Elementary School District, and began moving its Mesa location to ASU’s Polytechnic campus that same year.

In 2016, a third location opened in Casa Grande, Arizona, in collaboration with Barça Residency Academy. In 2017, ASU Prep launched ASU Prep Digital, built on the same college preparatory framework with class offerings all online for part–time or full–time students anywhere in the world. In 2018, ASU Prep announced its merger with Phoenix Collegiate Academy, beginning operations as the ASU Prep South Phoenix campuses. The newest ASU Prep location, ASU Prep Pilgrim Rest, opened in August of 2022 for grades PreK-8.

ASU Tempe/Levitt

ASU Prep Tempe Powered by The Levitt Lab (TLL) is a flexible in-person, innovative high school program that is reshaping education. Located on the ASU Tempe campus, TLL is focused on personalized learning, modern pedagogy, and student well-being. Our program emphasizes curiosity, self-motivation, and resilience while creating a flexible, real-world-relevant learning environment.

ASU Prep Tempe powered by The Levitt Lab (TLL) isn’t just another school. It’s an education model built for students who want more—more exploration, more real-world learning, more opportunities to pursue what excites them.

Here, we put purpose over grades, curiosity over routine and mastery over memorization. Instead of being told what to learn and when, you’ll move at your own pace, guided by mentors who help you explore bold ideas, challenge assumptions and build skills that matter.

ASU Prep Digital+

Students will be able to choose from a pathway at each campus with the flexibility to enroll in 1, 2, or 3-day programming. ASU Prep Digital+ programs progress every student’s learning experience and potential, preparing them for college and career.
