Graduation Details

ASU Preparatory Academy will graduate the Class of 2026 from ASU Prep Phoenix, ASU Prep Polytechnic, ASU Prep Casa Grande, ASU Prep Digital, ASU Prep South Phoenix, ASU Prep Global, The Levitt Lab, and Khan World School at ASU Prep. Graduation is a special moment, and we’re dedicated to making every #ASUPrepGrad feel celebrated and proud!

  • When and where is graduation?

    Graduation is Monday, May 18th, 2026 at 7:30pm. It is located at the ASU Desert Financial Arena. The address is 600 Veterans Way, Tempe AZ 85281.

  • Will there be a graduation rehearsal?

    Your graduation coordinator will visit all ASU Prep in person sites in the Spring to host a graduation rehearsal and answer questions. For students attending ASU Prep Digital, Khan World School at ASU Prep and ASU Prep Global, you will receive a detailed video about the ceremony, and a graduation-specific senior seminar live lesson on Monday, May 4th. There will also be a Graduation Open Office Hour on Thursday May 7th from 5:00-5:45pm AZ. Contact your counselor/LSC for more information.

  • Do I have to attend?

    No, you do not have to attend the ceremony. However, if you plan to walk in the ceremony, please RSVP with your counselor or LSC.

  • How long is the ceremony?

    Approximately 2 hours.

  • When should I arrive at the ceremony?

    On graduation day, the doors will open 1 hour before the event starts. Guests will not be permitted to enter early with their graduates or wait with their graduates during check in and line up.

  • Where do I park for the ceremony?

    Parking is first-come, first-served, and free. We recommend parking in Lot 58, Lot 59 or the Packard Parking Structure.

  • How many students are graduating?

    Across all 8 sites, we have over 1,000 graduates. Typically 70% of graduates attend the ceremony.

  • Are there tickets for guests?

    This is not a ticketed event. Seating is first-come, first-served, and free.

  • How many guests can I bring?

    Seating is first-come, first-served, and free. This is not a ticketed event and there are no limits on how many family members may attend per graduate.

  • Is there wheelchair seating available?

    Yes, however, ADA seating is limited, so please plan to arrive early if you would like to secure one of those areas. Here is a map of seating.

  • How do I get my cap and gown?

    Graduates are responsible for the cost of their cap and gown. ASU Prep Digital, Khan World School, and Global students should use these instructions to pay for their gown and have it shipped to their home. All other graduates should pay for their cap and gown through Infinite Campus and it will be delivered to their school. Please speak with your counselor/LSC for details.

  • Will I get an honors cord?

    Students who qualified for honor cords or stoles will receive them in advance of the ceremony. Students graduating with honors will receive cords to represent their accomplishments – see below for honor cord meanings:

    • Summa cum laude (GPA of 3.8 or higher)
    • Magna cum laude (GPA of 3.6 – 3.79)
    • Cum laude (GPA of 3.4 – 3.59)
  • If I am attending the ceremony, will I get my diploma then?

    If we receive your RSVP and you sign in at graduation, you should receive your diploma and cover at the graduation ceremony. If for any reason you do not, your diploma will be mailed to the address we have on file within 1 month of the ceremony. Please let your counselor/LSC know if you change addresses throughout the school year.

  • If I am NOT attending the ceremony, how do I get my diploma?

    Your diploma and cover will be automatically mailed to the address we have on file within 1 month of the ceremony. Please let your counselor/LSC know if you change addresses throughout the school year.

  • Is there a graduation ceremony in December?

    We do not have a separate December graduation ceremony, however, our December graduates may walk in our ceremony at our May graduation. Please ensure you notify your counselor/LSC about wanting to participate so we can ensure you receive the information you need. Your ASU Prep email will not work after your graduation date.

  • How can you get involved with the graduation (speeches, national anthem, etc.)

    Student speakers and gonfalon carriers are chosen by schools, but if you are interested, you may notify your counselor/LSC that you would like to be considered. If you are interested in singing the National Anthem, please fill out this form by January 30, 2026. If you are interested in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, speak with your counselor/LSC.

  • Can I bring a water bottle?

    Due to the location and time of year, the ceremony will be warm. Water fountains will be available, but please check the ASU Bag Policy for details on which water bottles are allowed. Hydroflasks are prohibited. ASU Prep/ASU are not responsible for any lost items.

  • Are there graduation photos? When will I get them?

    GradImages will take several photos of each graduate during the ceremony. Please do not stand in aisles or on the floor of the arena during the ceremony. Photos should be delivered to each graduate within 30 days after the ceremony and will be available for families to purchase. If a graduate does not receive their photos within that time, please contact the GradImages Customer Service Department at (800) 261-2576, online at gradimages.com, or email ecc.giservice@gradimages.net.

  • Can I bring balloons or signs?

    Please review ASU’s clear bag policy for a full list of prohibited items, including balloons and signs.

  • As a student, can I bring a bag and my phone?

    We do not recommend bringing a bag or backpack to the ceremony. All cellphones and electronics must be on mute during the ceremony and able to be carried in your pockets. If you do bring a bag, review ASU’s clear bag policy.

  • As a guest, can I bring a bag?

    Please review ASU’s clear bag policy.

  • Can I decorate my cap?

    Students may decorate their cap as long as it is school appropriate. If you have specific questions, please contact your counselor or LSC.

  • How do I wear my cap and gown?

    Do not attempt to iron your gown, it must be steamed. Click here to see how to care for and wear your cap and gown, as demonstrated by a previous ASU Prep Grad. Your tassel should be on the right side until you are asked to move it from right to left at the end of the graduation ceremony.

  • What should I wear under my gown?

    Business casual is recommended, along with comfortable shoes as we will walk a steep ramp to the floor of the arena. All graduation gowns must be zipped closed during the ceremony.

  • Am I able to wear a stole to graduation?

    You may wear any stoles provided by ASU Prep.

  • Am I able to wear the flag of my country?

    ASU Clear Bag & Prohibited Items Policy – Per ASU venue regulations, no flags, banners, or signs of any size are permitted inside the venue. This policy applies to all items whether they are handheld or worn as capes or garments. This policy is strictly enforced to ensure the safety, comfort, and unobstructed views of all attendees.

  • Can my preferred name be on my diploma?

    A diploma is a legal document which means your legal name must be on it. You can choose if you want your middle name, middle initial, or neither.

  • If I get my name changed legally, can I have the updated name reflected on my diploma?

    Absolutely, please contact your LSC and we can get your diploma updated with your legal name!

  • Can my preferred name be announced at graduation?

    Of course! You will be provided a name card where you will write your own name and pronunciation. Feel free to write your preferred name as long as it is an appropriate name that you actually use.

  • Can I bring a stroller?

    You may bring a stroller, but it must be checked. Stroller check will be available outside, next to the ramp for the east doors of the arena (near Lot 58).

  • What accessibility options are available?

    Our ceremony will have captioning on our video screens. Click here for other accessibility and disability information. Wheelchairs will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the north entrance. ADA seating is limited, so please plan to arrive early if you would like to secure one of those areas.     If a sign language interpreter is needed, please contact Katie Van Deinse at kvandein@asu.edu by March 1, 2026. We cannot guarantee an interpreter if the request is sent after that date.

  • Can I order graduation announcements to send to family and friends?

    Personalized graduation announcements may be purchased at your discretion. Since we ask that families take care of their own announcements, we try not to influence their decision on which businesses to support. If you would like to create your own announcements, here is some guidance on our ASU Prep logos and color codes.

  • Is there a way to watch virtually?

    Yes! Our ceremony will be livestreamed at https://video.ibm.com/asutv for those unable to attend the event in person.

  • How/when will I get my official transcript?
