Meet Mona and Mik Schwickert, 15-year-old ASU Prep Digital students with a talent that speaks volumes. These Scottsdale siblings aren’t just dreaming of the Olympics; they’re training tirelessly to dive into the competition at the Los Angeles 2028 games.
Synchronized success
Mona Schwickert has been perfecting her artistic swimming for the past ten years. “I like how you can swim to music and choreograph your own routines,” she shares, highlighting the blend of creativity and discipline that defines her sport.
Her twin brother, Mik, shares an equally profound passion for the water. An avid diver for eight years, Mik thrives on the thrill that comes with each dive. “I just like the adrenaline,” says Mik, summarizing his love for the sport in a heartbeat.
Both twins have not only dedicated countless hours to training but have also brought home national and international medals, making waves in their respective styles.
Balancing training and education
The flexibility of ASU Prep Digital makes it possible for the Schwickert twins to synchronize their studies with their sports. “They have the entire semester mapped out so if I have a competition, I can work ahead so that I’m all caught up,” Mik explains.
As they look ahead to the 2028 Olympics, Mona and Mik remain focused on their goals. Their journey is a testament to what can be achieved with dedication, discipline, and a splash of creativity.
Whether it’s the elegance of artistic swimming or the thrill of diving, the Schwickert twins are ready to make waves on the world stage.
