Hello! My name is Dr. Felicia Durden, and I am excited to be part of ASU Preparatory. I live in
beautiful Tempe, Arizona. I am a huge Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, and Phoenix
Mercury fan. I am one of the few people you will meet who is a native Arizonian. I would not
live anywhere else but in Arizona!
I consider myself a life-long learner. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s
degree in English. I also have a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and an Ed.D in
Educational Leadership.
My experience in education is vast. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to College. Some
of my past roles include Title 1 specialist, Reading Recovery Teacher, Master Teacher, Principal,
Director of Reading and Writing, and Associate Superintendent for the Arizona Department of
Education.
I enjoy nature walks, journaling, drawing, and reading in my spare time.
