Amy Kochis

Welcome to ASU Prep Poly Elementary

With more than 30 years of experience in education, Amy brings a passion for student-centered learning, relationship building, and creating school communities where every child can thrive. Throughout her career, she has worked with students from early childhood through high school while serving in both instructional and leadership roles. She spent 16 years at ASU Preparatory Academy previously and is honored to return to a community that has always felt like home. Amy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Child Development from the University of Akron, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Amy and her husband, Mike, have been married for more than 22 years and enjoy traveling, spending time with family. Originally from Farmington, Michigan, Amy moved to Arizona in 2003 and has proudly called it home ever since. Amy’s favorite part of being an educator is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff. She believes every student deserves to feel known, valued, and challenged. Her goal is to create an environment where students are inspired to explore their passions, embrace challenges, and develop the skills needed to make a positive impact on the world around them. What excites Amy most about ASU Prep Polytechnic is the unique opportunity students have to learn on a university campus while engaging in innovative, future-focused learning experiences. She is committed to building upon the strong culture of academic excellence, curiosity, and collaboration that makes ASU Prep such a special place. Amy believes that when students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems creatively, and pursue their interests with confidence, there are no limits to what they can achieve. Amy looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff. Go Devils! Together We Go Further.
