This year, a record number of global submissions highlighted transformative uses of technology in education. ASU Prep’s entry stood out for its unique approach to revolutionize math education, developed in collaboration with Google Cloud. Archie offers personalized, contextualized learning experiences that are reshaping the way students engage with math.
Innovative features of Archie, the AI math tutor
Archie, powered by ASU Prep’s collaboration with ASU EdPlus, is part of the Digit platform—a comprehensive tool for student math achievement. Archie provides a holistic view of math progress and offers a personalized tutoring experience that optimizes success.
Its user-friendly interface integrates handwriting and vision recognition, enabling students to solve math problems as they would on paper. The platform delivers real-time feedback and adaptive hints, guiding students toward solutions without revealing answers outright.
Corinn Carter, Director of Internal Initiatives at ASU Prep, led the award submission and expressed her enthusiasm: “The award will allow us to really share the product further and really amplify the impact of Archie and Digit, getting the tool into the hands of students who need it.”
Addressing the math education gap

In addition to this recognition, Archie previously received The Learning Accelerator grant, which explores AI’s role in improving curriculum differentiation and personalization. Through this initiative, ASU Prep is piloting Digit powered by Archie with 500 Algebra 1 students to assess the tool’s effectiveness and inform future enhancements.
